In 1621, pilgrims and Native Americans came together in the first ever Thanksgiving at Plymouth Colony. Almost 400 years later, you can experience this historic event at the annual re-enactment at Thanksgiving Point’s Eat Like a Pilgrim.

Very few places in the United States host Thanksgiving re-enactments, which makes Eat Like a Pilgrim a unique and rare experience. Also, Thanksgiving Point is the only Thanksgiving re-enactment held outside of New England. Guests come from all over Utah to take advantage of attending this special event that is close to home.

At Eat Like a Pilgrim, you’ll meet several characters from the first Thanksgiving feast including Gov. William Bradford, William Brewster, Squanto, and the Wampanoag. Teachers from the Alpine School District and the Colonial Heritage Foundation play the reenactors and act as historical interpreters. This event not only features the re-enactment, but also provides an authentic harvest dinner in a rustic Plymouth Colony setting. The evening’s dinner features turkey, roast pork, stewed pumpkins,corn pudding, mixed greens salad, mixed berry cobbler, and apple cider. A few lucky guests will get to try some authentic tasters from the 1600’s such as parched corn and goat’s milk. Other entertainment and activities include 17th century music, farm animal visits, calligraphy, wooden stockade photo ops, and more.
