April 14 (6-10pm) + April 15 (6am-8pm)
Judging will take place on April 15 from 6-7pm with awards following
Team of 4 people - $100
Gardeners face all kinds of challenges from gardening in small spaces, extending the growing season, providing enough water, managing pests, and making compost. This is your chance to design a low or high- tech hack to make the garden easier, safer, or more productive during this 2 day event. Included with your registration is Ashton Gardens admission during Tulip Festival, 4 t-shirts and lunch on April 15.
Experts will be on hand to advise your team throughout the Hack-a-thon including Utah State University Extension Master Gardeners and technology gurus.
NEED TO KNOW
This is a friendly competition and all teams must present their design for judging in their category. Each team must create a physical prototype of their design. Prototypes may be made from simple supplies like cardboard, pipe cleaners, straws, scrap wood, tin, etc., as long as the function of your hack is demonstrated.
Bring your own materials to create models or prototypes of your garden hack designs.
