Need a little extra sensory support? We are proud to offer sensory backpacks for checkout at the Museum of Ancient Life, Butterfly Biosphere, and the Museum of Natural Curiosity. These backpacks are designed for guests with Autism Spectrum Disorders or other sensory sensitivities to make their visit more enjoyable. Backpacks include: noise reduction headphones for children or adults, fidget toys, timer, sunglasses, and “if lost please call” wristbands.

Backpacks are free to check out on a first-come, first-serve basis at the admission desk. Guests are required to leave a valid drivers license or keys during use of the kit. 

To meet the needs of our community, we are excited to offer Sensory Friendly Tuesday Evenings at the Museum of Natural Curiosity. Families are invited to explore the museum in a sensory-modified environment with lights turned down, reduced sound, and extra signage to help create a safe and less stimulating environment. There will also be a designated quiet area for those who need a respite. These evenings are reserved exclusively for families and children with special needs, autism, or sensory processing differences.

All Venues

Wheelchairs ($10) and Strollers ($5) are available for rental at all five Thanksgiving Point discovery centers. Rentals subject to availability. No rentals are available 90 minutes prior to closing.

Ashton Gardens

Electric Scooters and Wheelchairs are available to rent in advance online or in-person at Ashton Gardens. Advance reservations are subject to an additional fee, but in-person rentals are subject to availability.

Golf Carts, strollers, and wagons are available to rent in-person only.
