Help one of our newly-emerged butterflies spread their wings with this immersive experience.
Join our explorers in releasing young butterflies into the conservatory and help a butterfly celebrate its first flight.
Butterfly’s First Flights are available Monday-Saturday at 11:30 am and 5:30 pm.
Guests must purchase in-person at the Butterfly Biosphere Front Desk.

Critter Encounter

Explore the world of bugs at Critter Encounter. Join us to learn about spiders, pollinators, and more! You will even see some extra special bugs up close.
Bug races
Daily | 1 pm & 6 pm
Cheer on your favorite bug as it races down a track every day during our daily Bug Races! Discover the strengths and speeds of different species as science and suspense come together in the most adorable way possible.
Entomologist Chats
Daily | 12 pm
Meet the Entomologists who take care of our insects, arachnids, and other invertebrates! Learn more about the bugs that live in Butterfly Biosphere and how we care for them in this interactive presentation. Stick around for questions at the end!

Butterfly Science Chats

See our Entomologists release newly-emerged butterflies for their first flight in the Conservatory and learn more about the care and personalities of our butterflies. Take this opportunity to chat with an Entomologist after the presentation.

Grab your magnifying glass for Insect Investigators! In this hands-on program, kids become bug detectives, exploring the amazing world of insects through up-close observations, interactive activities, and fun science experiments.
Community Insect Collection
Join Thanksgiving Point’s Community Insect Collection! Learn more about the bugs that live around you and make observations. Take a photo of a unique bug, bring it into Butterfly Biosphere and trade it for points.
