Thanksgiving Point Institute is committed to providing a safe and fun environment for curious kids and adults to grow and learn through play and exploration.  Guests must adhere to the Code of Conduct to create a positive and inclusive experience for all. Additionally, we expect all guests to follow all posted venue specific rules and policies.

Thanksgiving Point Institute reserves the right to refuse and/or revoke admission and membership, or remove any person(s) from the Venue- without reimbursement- whose conduct is deemed disorderly or in violation of this Guest Code of Conduct policy.  We reserve the right to pursue legal action when and where appropriate.  Rules and regulations are subject to change without notice.  If you have any questions, please visit thanksgivingpoint.org or call Guest Information at 801-769-2300.

 

GENERAL RULES

  • Children must always be under the supervision of a caregiver over the age of 16. Please report any emergency or child separated from the group to a Venue staff member.
  • Guests must wear appropriate attire, including shoes, shirts, and pants/shorts/skirts. Bare feet are not allowed anywhere on the grounds. Failure to wear appropriate attire may result in being asked to leave.
  • Members and their family (including guests) must be present to receive benefits. Photo ID may be required.
  • Pets and emotional support animals are not allowed inside the venues, except for approved events.
  • Service Animals are welcome, so long as they are trained, the owner always has the animal under control, and they do not enter exhibit areas where there are other animals may be put at risk
  • Children and animals should not be left unattended in vehicles.
  • To report a crime, including damaged or stolen items, please call Lehi Dispatch at 801.798.5600.
  • If you have a lost item, please go to the Front Desk of the Venue.
  • To report a minor injury or accident, please contact Security at 801-592-9133. For serious injuries or accidents, please call 911.
  • To report an injury or accident, please contact Thanksgiving Point Security at 801-592-9133.
  • The use of drones on the property is not allowed at any time.
  • All items are subject to search prior to entry and the Venues reserve the right to adjust entry policies at their sole discretion without any prior notice.
  • For the safety of our guests and staff, the following is prohibited and may result in removal from the property:
    • Possession of weapons of any kind (concealed or open carry), firearms, knives, or hazardous materials.
    • Bringing airhorns, signs, banners, glass containers, laser pointers, outside food and beverage, and skateboards and scooters.
    • Crossing barriers or fences.
    • Feeding the animals, unless labeled for that purpose and purchased at Thanksgiving Point.
    • Being under the influence of or bringing drugs, illegal substances, or alcohol on the property or in restaurants.
    • Smoking of tobacco, e-cigarettes, vape pens, illegal substances, or other products that produce a vapor or smoke within 25 feet of a building.  There is no smoking allowed inside Ashton Gardens.
    • Playing loud music, shouting, using airhorns, screaming, or otherwise generate loud noises.
    • Solicitation or advertising of any kind.
    • Indecent exposure or attire, lewd acts, or behaviors not appropriate for young children.
    • Disorderly conduct or actions that may bring harm or danger to others.
    • Failure to follow instructions from Venue and/or Security staff.

 

STANDARD CONDUCT

Our mission is to bring to life the joy of learning and wonders of the natural world.  You play a part in our ability to exemplify this mission and we ask for your cooperation with the following guidelines:

  • Be kind and respectful in your words and behavior. Using profane, threatening or abusive language towards other guests and/or Venue staff or displaying offensive words or graphics on your person is not appropriate for our family friendly environment and is strictly prohibited.
  • Be a role model for children.
  • Be clean. Dispose of waste and trash in the labeled and provided trash receptacles.
  • Please share exhibit space and play materials — there’s enough for everyone!
  • Assume good intentions — children reaching for the same object may result in innocent contact or collision between guests.
  • Be safe. Adhere to all safety related signs and instructions.
  • Our goal is to have our spaces enjoyed by all, for many years to come. Some exhibits may be for eyes only, please adhere to signage. Refrain from touching unless otherwise indicated.  Defacing, damaging, vandalizing, or destroying Venue exhibits or property may result in Thanksgiving Point taking preventative, legal, financial, or other action as deemed necessary to protect the property.

Guardians have the responsibility to ensure children and guests follow these policies. If you witness violations of this Code of Conduct, please report to a staff member.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO

Venue guests may use still and video cameras for personal use during their visit. Respect the privacy and consent of others.  Avoid capturing images of other children without the permission of legal guardian.

The Institute routinely captures images, video and audio for safety and promotional purposes. Entrance into the Venues constitutes consent for everyone in your party to be photographed and appear in promotional materials. Guests may alert the Admissions Desk if they would like to opt out of participation in Venue photos and videos.

Please be aware that security cameras are in use throughout the property. By entering and remaining on the property, you are consenting to your activities being recorded and monitored using video and audio recording systems placed in various locations through the property.

A photography session is an event where a photographer/videographer (either amateur or professional using any device including mobile phones) takes a series of photographs of a posed subject(s) using any part of Thanksgiving Point property as a backdrop.  This includes requests for professional engagement or wedding photos, other personal milestone events, or commercial purposes.  Permission is required for all such events and purposes. Media outlets and professional photographers may -contact Guest Information at 801-768-2300 to schedule a visit at the Institute or inquire about professional photo shoot rentals.

All sales are final. TPI does not issue refunds or exchanges for special events. TPI does not provide rain checks, or price adjustments. If an event is cancelled, TPI will exchange tickets for future tickets of equal or lesser value. Tickets are required for each attendee, including children.

By visiting TPI, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless TPI and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in connection with your use of or attendance at TPI, including but not limited to any claims arising out of your violation of this Agreement or your violation of the rights of any third party. You assume all risk, including risk of personal injury, death, exposure to communicable diseases, and the risk of lost, stolen, or damaged property. You agree and understand there are risks arising out of your own actions and the actions of others.

TPI and its employees and its agents are not liable for any losses and expenses that may arise during the use of TPI events, website, or property. Such losses and expenses may include, but are not limited to, data loss and property loss. You agree to abide by the Code of Conduct policy which includes not bringing firearms or knives on TPI property; exhibiting obscene or distasteful acts, language or graphics; solicitation or advertising of any kind; adhering to all photography policies; staying within the guided paths within museums and gardens.  Airhorns, animals, signs, drugs, firearms, knives, weapons, banners, glass containers, laser pointers, outside food and beverage, and skateboards and scooters are prohibited at all times.  Shirts and shoes must be worn at all times. Photography or video recording is allowed only in designated areas.
