Who it’s made for:

  • Elementary School students
  • Junior High School students
  • High School students

 

Price:

$4 per student

Description:
  • 15-student minimum to qualify for an Explorer Field Trip rate
  • K-6: 1 free adult for every 5 students 
  • One free teacher per class
  • Middle School, High School: 1 free adult for every 10 students (includes teachers)
  • Extra adults will be charged $6 and must arrive with the group and be paid for in one transaction
  • 2-hour, self-guided admission
  • FIELD TRIP REQUEST MUST BE SUBMITTED 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE

EXPLORER PLUS FIELD TRIP

Curriculum-based activity and self-guided tour through the Museum for schools

 

Who it’s made for:

  • Elementary School students

 

Price:

$5 per student

 

REquest explorer plus field trip

 

Description:

  • 40-student minimum to qualify for an Explorer Plus Field Trip rate
  • 1 free adult for every 5 students
  • One free teacher per class
  • Extra adults will be charged $6 and must arrive with the group and be paid for in one transaction
  • Includes a 25-minute facilitated activity based on SEEd standard for each grade level:
    • KindergartenBOOM! It Moves Students will compare the effects of different strengths or different directions of forces on the motion of an object.

    • 1st GradeVibrating Matter Students will discover that vibrating matter can make sound and that sound can make matter vibrate.

    • 2nd GradeWhich is Well-Suited? Students will discover that materials can be well-suited when using the right materials for a project.

    • 3rd GradeInteractions Students will determine that things can be moved without contact.

    • 4th GradeWhen Energy Collides Students will discover the cause-and-effect relationship between speed and energy.

    • 5th GradeUnseen Students will discover how matter is too small to be seen but still exist.

    • 6th GradeDoes it Matter? Students will discover the effect of the transfer of energy between matter.

  • 2-hour, self-guided admission with provided activity. 3-hour, self-guided admission is included for Explorer Plus Field Trips with more than 4 classes
  • Not available between June and August

DISCOVERY FIELD TRIP

A SELF-GUIDED TOUR THROUGH THE MUSEUM FOR OTHER EDUCATIONAL GROUPS

 

Who it’s made for:

  • Preschool students
  • Home School/Online School students
  • Clubs, After-School, Post-High School Programs, etc.

 

Price:

$7 per student and adult

 

Request discovery field trip

 

Description:

  • One teacher/coordinator admitted free with field trip
  • 5-student minimum to qualify for a Discovery Field Trip rate
  • Preschool, K-6: 1:5 chaperone ratio required for safety and supervision
  • Middle School, High School: 1:10 chaperone ratio required for safety and supervision
  • You may bring more than the 1:5 ratio for the same rate
  • 2-hour, self-guided admission
  • Anyone coming on a membership needs to check in separately and not be included in the number of students/adults on the request form
  • Not available between March and May
  • FIELD TRIP REQUEST MUST BE SUBMITTED 30 DAYS IN ADVANCE

University DISCOVERY FIELD TRIP
