Spring at Thanksgiving Point means the Tulip Festival Race Series is finally here! Dust off your running shoes and come shake off the cobwebs of winter for our Tulip Festival race. It's the one-of-a-kind 5k that actually runs through the Tulip Festival and inside the Ashton Gardens. It’s a challenging race that is equally as beautiful. Come run with us this year! 


Tulip Festival 5k

Begins at 7:30 am

Tiptoe through the tulips in the Ashton Gardens with the entire family. All participants receive a race shirt, medal, and the sheer satisfaction of running this amazing 3.1 mile race! The 5K is also a wheels-friendly run so strollers and other running aides are welcome. 

 

COVID-19 Protocols

The health and safety of our employees, volunteers, and runners are top of mind amid concerns about the spread of COVID-19. We are monitoring expert recommendations, including guidance from the CDC, and advice of the federal, state, and local officials.

Masks are be required in the start/finish area, and Runners will be sent out in waves to keep with social distancing guidelines. For more information, view our Safety Information below. 

 

 

 

Virtual Tulip Festival 5k

Run Your Own 5k!

Enjoy a beautiful spring 5k at your convenience! Virtual Participants receive a Tulip Festival 5k race shirt, Digital Bib and Tulip Festival 5k medal during Drive Through Packet Pickup on Friday April 23rd from 11 am - 8 pm. Runners can submit their race times April 23-25. Change Categories to the Virtual 5k or submit Virtual Results HERE.

*Virtual runners are not eligible for Division Awards.

$45         March 1 - March 31

About the Race

Thanksgiving Point staff and volunteers will all be taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our runners.

Masks

  • Masks are be required in the start/finish area.

 

Social Distancing

  • Runners will be sent out in waves to keep with social distancing guidelines
  • Signs will be placed throughout the start/finish area and at the starting lines reminding runners to maintain adequate social distancing
  • Runners will start in a controlled runner chute by finish times. This will be marked out via signage and ground paint.

 

Sanitization

  • The food at the finish line will be prepackaged for individual servings
  • Cups at aid station will be spaced out enough to ensure runners only touch their own cup.
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be provided.
  • Medals will be placed on a table individually for the runners to grab.

 

Stay Home if You're Sick

  • Please be mindful and stay home if you are symptomatic (having fever, cough, or shortness of breath) or have recently traveled to a high- risk country/areas.
  • High-risk individuals should continue to follow stricter protocols and exercise all possible caution. Your safety is important to us.

Join us for Packet Pickup:

Friday April 23rd, 12pm- 8pm 
Show Barn, Water Tower Campus

Please pick up your packet, bib number, shirt, at the packet pickup the day before the race. You may pick up someone else’s packet if you have a copy of their race registration. Packets will NOT be available to pick up the morning of the race. If you are for some reason unable to pick up your packet from the packet pickup, please send us an email at raceinfo@thanksgivingpoint.org

Unfortunately due to capacity restrictions, Tulip Festival tickets are not included in this year's Tulip 5k race packets.

The results will be available for your preliminary results at kiosks and on our website after the race. There will not be an in-person awards ceremony this year. Age group awards will be based on chip times and winners will have their awards mailed out following the race.

 

5K

Prizes will be given to the top three male/female finishers in each of the following divisions: 
Open Division:

  • 1st Place Male / Female: Award + Thanksgiving Point Family Membership
  • 2nd Place Male / Female: Award + Thanksgiving Point Family Membership
  • 3rd Place Male / Female: Award + Thanksgiving Point Family Membership

ALL 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medals.

Age division awards will be given to the top three Men’s & Women’s finishers in each of the following age divisions:

Age Divisions: 
11 & under, 12-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

All 5k registrants (In-Person and Virtual) will receive:

  • Race T-Shirt
  • Finisher's Medal

Tulip 5k runners will receive a physical bib, while Virtual 5k participants include a Digital bib. 

Unfortunately due to capacity restrictions, Tulip Festival tickets are not included in this year's Tulip 5k registrations. 

We wish to thank our numerous volunteers for their time and efforts in providing the following aid stations. Please be courteous and express your appreciation to this wonderful group of volunteers.

 

5K

In addition to the finish area, the 5K will have one aid station at mile 1.6 stocked with water and POWERADE.

 

Refunds

Due to extensive logistical planning and commitments made in the race production process, we have a no refund policy. We do understand though that unforeseen circumstances and other responsibilities come up. Therefore, we have implemented policies allowing runners to transfer or defer their registration.

 

All transfers and deferrals need to be done BEFORE the event. This includes location events with a virtual event option.

 

Participant Transfer

 Transfer your registration to another person. This is the allowed way to “sell” your bib number.

Defer to next year’s Tulip 5k.
