Explorer Field Trip
A SELF-GUIDED TOUR THROUGH THE Farm FOR SCHOOLS
Who it’s made for:
- Elementary School students
- Junior High School students
Price:
$4 per student
- 15-student minimum to qualify for an Explorer Field Trip rate
- K-6: 1 free adult for every 5 students
- One free teacher per class
- Middle School: 1:10 chaperone ratio required for safety and supervision. Chaperones attending as part of the 1:10 ratio are free.
- Extra adults will be charged $6 and must arrive with the group and be paid for in one transaction.

EXPLORER PLUS FIELD TRIP

REQUEST EXPLORER PLUS FIELD TRIP
Description:
- 40-student minimum to qualify for an Explorer Plus Field Trip rate
- 1 free adult for every 5 students
- One free teacher per class
- Extra adults will be charged $6 and must arrive with the group and be paid for in one transaction.
- Includes a 25-minute facilitated activity based on SEEd standard for each grade level:

Kindergarten – Fur Function Students will discover through observation and experimentation how fur structure helps animals stay warm and survive.

1st Grade – Offspring Survival Students will explore patterns in the behaviors of parents and their offspring that help young animals survive.

2nd Grade – Traits for Survival Students will investigate how the structure and function of animal traits support survival in different habitats and apply this understanding by designing human adaptations inspired by animals.

3rd Grade – Animal Behavior Students will examine how instinctual and learned animal behaviors support survival and design solutions to help animals adapt to environmental changes caused by humans.

4th Grade – Inside Out Students will construct an explanation for how to properly meet an animal’s needs on a farm using data gathered from an investigation of different animals’ structures and functions.

5th Grade – Building Blocks of Plants Students will construct an explanation of how plants use air, water, and sunlight to build plant matter through photosynthesis and explore how hydroponics affects plant growth.

6th Grade – Disaster Simulation Students will analyze how disasters affect resource availability and ecosystem stability and design solutions to help farms and ecosystems recover from environmental change.

- High School students
- Home School/Online School students
- Clubs, After-School, Post-High School Programs, etc.
Price:
$7 per student and adult
Description:
- One teacher/coordinator admitted free with field trip
- 5-student minimum to qualify for a Discovery Field Trip rate
- Preschool, K-6: 1:5 chaperone ratio required for safety and supervision
- High School: 1:10 chaperone ratio required for safety and supervision, 75 students maximum without prior approval
- You may bring more than the 1:5 ratio for the same rate
- 2-hour, self-guided admission
- Anyone coming on a membership needs to check in separately and not be included in the number of students/adults on the request form
- Not available between March and May
