Experience the light of Luminaria, a feast for all the senses. This holiday tradition is so remarkable, it was selected to be featured on ABC’s popular Great Christmas Light Fight: Season 8 Heavyweight Edition premiering December 16th, 2020 at 7:00pm MST!

An enchanting walk through Ashton Gardens transports you to another world with all of the sights, smells, sounds, and tastes of the holidays.  A one-way path guides you past a brand new light and music show on 6,500 programmable luminaries blanketing a hill, with each luminary a pixel in a moving picture of flying reindeer, ombré waves, and other signs of the season. All new songs and shows will be even better with the iconic 120-foot tree (already on top of a 40-foot hill!) incorporated into the show.

Also new in 2020, the Legend of Yeti is becoming part of Luminaria. Spot him throughout the event until you find him at home in the brand new Himalayan Heights section of Luminaria.

Looking for a quiet moment of spiritual reflection? View the nativity scene before entering the Light of the World Garden. Glowing lanterns and peaceful music accompany this space featuring 35 monument- sized bronze sculptures depicting scenes of Jesus Christ from the New Testament. Continue your holiday stroll while indulging in special touches like s’mores at glowing fire pits, hot chocolate and sweets from the gift boutique, interactive game areas, and more!

If you're looking ahead to New Year's Eve, you can enjoy our special New Year's Late Night at Luminaria - including treats of your choosing, fireworks, and more!

Thanksgiving Point is dedicated to the health and safety of its guests, employees, and community. Luminaria will implement the following precautions to control the spread of COVID-19:

  • Masks are REQUIRED. For more information on our mask policy, see HERE.
  • One-way pathway with separated event entrance/exit.
  • Tickets are limited and must be reserved online.
  • The number of guests is limited by each half hour to allow for social distancing.
  • Outdoor queuing area for guests to prepare their tickets and meet other guests before entering the Garden Visitor Center.
  • Employees will wear face masks while working, in addition to temperature checks upon arrival. 
  • Additional cleaning and sanitation measures as well as educational signage are being implemented to facilitate safety.
  • Guests and employees are asked to wash hands frequently and stay home when ill.

A Child ticket covers ages 3-12. Ages 2 and under do not require a ticket. VIP, Premier, and Stay & Play packages can be used for all ages.

Yes! We love our volunteers and we have lots of great benefits to make it worth your time. Volunteer spots are closed currently closed. Check back in 2021 for more information!

Tickets purchased in advanced are non-refundable. Exchanges may be issued and are subject to a $10 exchange fee (per transaction). Tickets that are unused may be exchanged after their scheduled time. Exchanges are subject to the availability of another open time-slot and date and may take place over the phone (801.768.2300) or in person at Thanksgiving Point’s reception desk. (Butterfly Biosphere 10 am – 5 pm).

Outside food is not permitted. 

Thanksgiving Point has a limited number of wheelchairs available to rent and are $20 for an advance reservation, or $15 in person. Rentals are for a 3 hour period.

Electric Scooters are available for a $30 advance reservation, or $25 in person. Rentals are for a 2 hour period.

Paths are wheelchair, stroller, and wagon accessible. Golf Carts will NOT be available to rent due to the narrow nature of pathways.

After pre-sale, Thanksgiving Point members receive a 25% discount on regular season tickets. Members are welcome to purchase as many tickets as they'd like. 

We recommend on planning at least an hour and a half to experience Luminaria.
