More Than 10 Million Lights Across 50 Acres
There are Christmas lights—and then there is Luminaria.
Millions of twinkling lights fill Ashton Gardens, creating immersive displays around nearly every corner. Guests can wander beneath glowing trees, discover oversized holiday toys and ornaments, stop for photos, warm up with seasonal treats, and experience some of Luminaria’s most recognizable traditions.
Whether you are searching for Christmas lights in Utah, planning a family holiday outing, looking for a festive date night, or continuing a tradition you have had for years, Luminaria is designed to make the season feel a little more magical.
And with tickets reserved by specific date and entry time, planning ahead can make a big difference.
NEW: Christmas on the Lake
One of this year’s newest experiences brings Christmas magic to the water. At Christmas on the Lake, towering illuminated trees sparkle over the water, creating glowing reflections across the surface and transforming the gardens into a breathtaking holiday scene.
It is peaceful, bright, and made for one of those moments when everyone stops walking for a second just to take it all in.
The Merry Mosaic Returns
If you have ever seen Luminaria on social media, there is a good chance you have already seen the Merry Mosaic.
Made up of 6,500 luminaries and a 120-foot-tall Christmas tree, the Merry Mosaic combines light and music to create one of Luminaria’s most recognizable displays.
Images and patterns move across the hillside while the towering tree becomes part of the show, creating a massive first impression as guests enter Luminaria.
It is one of those experiences that is difficult to understand through a screen—you really have to see the scale of it in person.
NEW: Ignite the Night
The Waterfall Amphitheatre is getting an entirely new nighttime experience this season. Ignite the Night follows a journey of hope as fire, ice, light, music, and visual effects transform the Amphitheatre into a holiday spectacle.
Brilliant lighting, flames, music, and dazzling effects come together in a show designed to capture the wonder of the season and leave the whole family believing in a little Christmas magic. It is one of several new experiences joining Luminaria this year and another reason longtime visitors may find something completely different waiting for them.

Dance Under the Lights at Snow Glow
Sometimes the best holiday memories happen when everyone stops worrying about looking cool. At the Snow Glow Dance Party, colorful lights meet favorite holiday music on a glowing dance floor where families and friends can dance, laugh, and let loose together.
Kids can burn off some energy, adults can show off moves they probably should have retired years ago, and everyone gets a chance to be part of the fun. Luminaria may have millions of lights, but experiences like Snow Glow are what turn those lights into memories.
NEW: Take the Mic at Carol-oke
Think your family has what it takes to headline a Christmas concert?
This year, guests can step up to the microphone at the all-new Carol-oke and sing along to favorite Christmas classics.
Whether you are ready to perform for the crowd or would much rather sing from the sidelines, Carol-oke is all about laughing together, getting into the holiday spirit, and making memories you probably will not forget anytime soon.
Warm Up in Luminaria Village
About halfway through your walk, Luminaria Village gives you a chance to slow down, warm up, and enjoy the season.
Gather around a firepit, grab something warm to eat or drink, and take a break before continuing through the gardens. Guests looking to make the evening even more memorable can reserve a private firepit or igloo for their group. It is also a pretty good excuse to finally get that family Christmas photo.
Come Hungry
Holiday lights are even better with something warm in your hands.
Luminaria favorites include hot cocoa, famous mini donuts, and a variety of sweet and savory seasonal treats throughout the gardens. Looking forward to trying a little bit of everything? Grab a Food Punch Card to save time and money during your visit.
Choose from 5-, 10-, or 15-punch cards, purchase yours online before you arrive, and pick it up at the Visitor Center entrance to Luminaria. Less time deciding what to buy. More time enjoying the treats. We support that.
Add a Food Punch Card to your Luminaria plans and come hungry.
Experience the Tree of Life
Luminaria also offers moments designed for quiet reflection.
Experience The Tree of Life, a breathtaking sculpture garden tucked away in a peaceful corner of Ashton Gardens. Created by world-renowned sculptor Angela Johnson, the exhibit features more than 130 larger-than-life bronze figures that beautifully portray the hope, love, and redemption found through Jesus Christ.
Surrounded by the glow of Luminaria, The Tree of Life offers a quiet place to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with the deeper meaning of the Christmas season. It’s a moving, soul-touching experience and a meaningful moment for families to share together during their holiday visit.
A Utah Christmas Tradition for Everyone
Some families visit every year. Some couples make Luminaria their Christmas date night. Some guests are bringing their kids for the first time after visiting years ago themselves. That is part of what makes Luminaria special.
It can be loud and joyful at Snow Glow, peaceful beside the Tree of Life, exciting during Ignite the Night, cozy around a firepit, or simply a chance to walk through millions of lights with the people you love.
Whether you are starting a new holiday tradition or returning to one you already love, Luminaria gives Utah families a place to celebrate the season together.
