Luminaria at Thanksgiving Point will feature brand-new exhibits and shows in 2024
LEHI, Utah (October 15, 2024) – Luminaria, Utah’s largest Christmas light show, returns to Thanksgiving Point in its ninth year with brand-new attractions. Illuminating the 50-acre Ashton Gardens, Luminaria brings the sights, sounds, and tastes of the holidays to life. Luminaria will be open at Thanksgiving Point from November 14, 2024 – January 4, 2025.
This season, Luminaria will feature an incredible new addition to the experience: The Tree of Life garden. This artistic marvel created by world-renowned artist and sculptor Angela Johnson tells the story of the Tree of Life vision from the Book of Mormon and shares scenes from Christ’s life. 130 statues are spaced throughout the new 2.5-acre exhibit. This unforgettable and soul-touching experience is included with Luminaria admission.
A new Fire & Ice show will also be displayed in the Ashton Gardens. This eight-minute production features real flames that shoot over 20 feet in the air and lights that dance to a powerful musical number. Shows occur every 20 minutes at the Waterfall Amphitheatre. The Fire & Ice show is one of the most popular areas of Luminaria due to its dazzling atmosphere.
In 2023, Luminaria hosted more than 190,000 guests – making it one of the most popular holiday events in Utah. The event expands over the 50-acre Ashton Gardens and features areas with twinkling lights, holiday displays, and one-of-a-kind experiences. Guests enter and immediately view the luminary hill, where 6,500 programmable luminaries and a 120-foot tree create seasonal images, like snowflakes and reindeer, programmed to holiday music – making it one of the most iconic photo opportunities in the state. Due to its popularity and size, Luminaria was featured as a finalist on the ABC show Great Christmas Light Fight: Heavyweights Edition in 2020 during their eighth season.
Over 10,000 hours of work from hundreds of employees and volunteers go into making Luminaria a success each year. Planning for Luminaria began in April 2024 – and with The Tree of Life garden unveiling, Thanksgiving Point expects to break attendance records this season.
Luminaria also features unique bookable experiences, including private igloo reservations, private firepit reservations, large party reservations, VIP packages, a proposal package, a Stay and Play package, and dozens of food and beverage options for purchase within Luminaria.
On December 31 and January 1 only, Luminaria will host a New Year’s celebration titled “Fireworks & Ice.” To celebrate, a fireworks show will launch during the Fire & Ice performance, making for a memorable and family-friendly tradition to ring in the new year.
Luminaria will be open from November 14, 2024 to January 4, 2025 with time slots available from 4 pm to 9 pm in the Ashton Gardens. The Ashton Gardens are located at 3900 N. Garden Drive in Lehi, Utah.
Guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets online and in advance. All Luminaria pricing is available on Thanksgiving Point’s website. Guests can purchase discounted tickets during the Luminaria pre-sale, which ends on October 31. Thanksgiving Point members receive the best discounts on tickets throughout the season.
Luminaria will be closed on Sundays, Thanksgiving Day (November 28), and Christmas Day (December 25). Luminaria is made possible through support from Mountain America Credit Union. Thanksgiving Point also thanks Lehi PARC, Dancing Moose Montessori School, dōTERRA, Union Pacific, and Adobe for their support. Thanksgiving Point achieves its mission with help from generous corporations, foundations, individuals, and government agencies.
