Hundreds of quilts submitted by international artists create the renowned Garden of Quilts exhibit
LEHI, Utah (August 12, 2025) – Over 500 hand-made quilts gently swaying in the breeze create the Garden of Quilts Festival, a one-of-a-kind celebration of fabric artistry in Thanksgiving Point’s Ashton Gardens on September 12 and 13. Presented with Riley Blake Designs, Garden of Quilts is Utah’s premier fabric arts festival and a must-visit for art lovers, makers, and creatives alike.
Artists from around the world submit quilts every year to Garden of Quilts, traveling thousands of miles to learn from professional designers and makers. Quilts are hung throughout the 50-acre Ashton Gardens and are displayed amongst vibrant blooms and fragrant flowers for the two-day festival. One of the largest quilt displays in the nation, Garden of Quilts inspires thousands of fabric artists every year – with 35% of visitors coming from out-of-state.
Garden of Quilts also features an international roster of designers, makers, and artists who teach quilting classes from September 10-13. Catering to all skill levels, 50+ different classes provide opportunities for students to learn new skills or master their craft. Unique class tracks, like the Shop Owner Track, empower budding entrepreneurs to turn their love of quilting into a successful business venture.
Throughout the week, Garden of Quilts hosts exciting events meant to engage guests with professional designers, quilting celebrities, and fellow makers. Special guests and featured speakers, like Lori Holt, founder of Bee in my Bonnet and Melissa Gilbert, star of Little House on the Prairie and founder of Modern Prairie, bring decades of experience in quilt design and fabric artistry to share in lectures and themed events. Guests can also meet like-minded quilters through social events like Afternoon Teas and the Let’s Make a Quilt buffet experience.
Garden of Quilts brings thousands of visitors from around the nation and around the world. In past displays, artists from England, Canada, and India have submitted and visited Garden of Quilts. This year, Thanksgiving Point is featuring artists from Massachusetts, Florida, and Washington. Driving tourism to the south end of Salt Lake County and the north end of Utah County, Garden of Quilts is a unique event creating opportunities for dozens of local restaurants, clothing and fabric stores, and more. Generating a Net Promoter Score of +81.9, Garden of Quilts is known as one of the best quilt festivals and fabric art displays in the world.
Garden of Quilts is more than just a quilt showcase – it’s an immersive event for art lovers, makers, and crafters looking to try a new hobby. It’s an exhibit for people who appreciate natural beauty, hand-made goods, and creative expression. Garden of Quilts is for everyone, young and old, looking to connect with their community and learn from the people around them.
