October 7, 2022, Thanksgiving Point broke the World Record for Most Bulbs Planted by a Team in One Hour. Thanks to so many incredible volunteers and the Ashton Gardens team, we planted 41, 089 tulip bulbs.

Rick’s Allosaurus

In 2020, a new subspecies of Allosaurus was announced - Allosaurus jimmadseni. The first discovery of this new subspecies was found in 1990, but in 2002, Thanksgiving Point Paleontologist Rick Hunter discovered his own juvenile Allosaurus jimmadseni.

Thanksgiving Point is thrilled to attempt an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for Most Flower Bulbs Planted In One Hour on Friday, October 7, at 10 am in the Ashton Gardens. 110 community volunteers, 40 staff, an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, and more will be present to help plant spring flowers in preparation for Thanksgiving Point’s annual Tulip Festival.

Thanksgiving Point is excited to announce a multi-year naming rights partnership with Mountain America Credit Union. The dinosaur museum, housing one of the largest collections of mounted dinosaurs in the world, will be named the Mountain America Museum of Ancient Life.
