Dinosaurs come to life this summer at the Ashton Gardens during the second-annual Dinosaur Island at Thanksgiving Point, presented by Mountain America Federal Credit Union. This summer-long event features over 30 life-sized, animatronic dinosaurs, transforming the Ashton Gardens into a prehistoric party from May 27 to August 26, 2023.

On Saturday, February 4, Thanksgiving Point’s new Chief Visionary Officer was inducted into the Silicon Slopes Hall of Fame during the Silicon Slopes Awards at the Grand America Hotel. She joins six other inductees who “have had a tremendous positive influence on Utah’s business community and beyond.”

Thanksgiving Point, the Utah nonprofit destination, is delighted to announce the appointment of notable Utah leader Jeanette Bennett as Chief Visionary Officer and Trustee on the Board of Trustees.

Luminaria, the winter holiday tradition that brings the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the holidays to life, returns to Thanksgiving Point for its seventh year. Luminaria is the signature holiday event at Thanksgiving Point and is Utah’s largest light display, with millions of lights and 28 themed areas showcased in the 50-acre Ashton Gardens.

October 7, 2022, Thanksgiving Point broke the World Record for Most Bulbs Planted by a Team in One Hour. Thanks to so many incredible volunteers and the Ashton Gardens team, we planted 41, 089 tulip bulbs.

Día de Muertos, the Mexican and Latin American family celebration, is back at Thanksgiving Point on October 22! Authentic traditions, like alfombras de aserrín and ofrendas, allow guests of all ages and backgrounds the opportunity to learn, appreciate, and connect with this iconic holiday.

Thanksgiving Point is thrilled to attempt an official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for Most Flower Bulbs Planted In One Hour on Friday, October 7, at 10 am in the Ashton Gardens. 110 community volunteers, 40 staff, an official adjudicator from Guinness World Records, and more will be present to help plant spring flowers in preparation for Thanksgiving Point’s annual Tulip Festival.

Day of Caring is United Way’s biggest event of the year, with hundreds of volunteers from several different companies coming together to serve their community. This year, Thanksgiving Point educators brought science learning and engineering to life for kids at Lehi Elementary.

Thanksgiving Point is excited to announce a multi-year naming rights partnership with Mountain America Credit Union. The dinosaur museum, housing one of the largest collections of mounted dinosaurs in the world, will be named the Mountain America Museum of Ancient Life.
